CRUDSLIME CUP

The Crudslime Cup is awarded each calendar year to the LCRK member who scores the most points for the 12km Time Trial on the first Wednesday of each month. The winner holds the perpetual trophy and wears number 1 on their boat for the following year.

Rules

  1. Each month the club handicapper issues start times for all members
  2. To be eligible for Crudslime cup points paddlers must start on their allocated time
  3. First across the line gets 50 points, second gets 49 and so on
  4. The best 9 results for the year count

Handicap Calculation

Handicaps are calculated with the intention that all paddlers will cross the finnish line at 75 minutes. If you took 65 minutes last month then expect to start at around 10 minutes this month. If you paddle faster than your handicap then your new handicap will be based to your new time. You have to paddle slower than your existing handicap for two Cup nights in a row for your handicap to be lowered and then only by a maximum of one minute.
The calculation method is adjusted at the discretion of the handicapper.

Eligibility

Handicaps and points are only given to current full members. Membership fees cover 1 July to to 30 June each year. To get points for the full year you will need to be a member for both financial years. Memberships not renewed by 31 July expire. Make sure you renew your membership on time so you don't miss out on August points.

FAQ

Q. What if I start at the wrong time?
A. If you miss your allocated time and start a few minutes late then you will need to paddle extra hard - your finishing position will stand. If you start before your allocated time then you will not score any points.

Q. What if I have not been allocated a handicap?
A. Seek out the handicapper before the race and have one allocated.

Q. Is the Crudslime Cup run in January?
A. Yes

Q. What if I'm paddling a faster boat this month?
A. That's OK but be aware your handicap will be adjusted to your new faster time

Q. What if I paddle in a double?
A. You need a separate handicap allocated per doubles combination and your points will count as an individual. Both paddlers must be LCRK members for points to be earned.
